Photos

There are new pictures from time to time on the blog; the best way to access them is to go to the blog: labels: sort by label photo. Or click here (shortcut to same).

Pre-blog, analog style, here are some of the best oldies:

2004 Christmas

The best kind of Yokie: happy in the kitchen.

Alor Gajah Belly Rub

Yokie could sell a Camel a Camelback.

Strawberry Hill, Helena MT;
start of a long immigration odyssey.

We couldn't always afford jackets.
If you have a blanket and duck tape,
who needs them?

Old School Rose

Ok, not technically a picture of Rose;
this is the house where Rose was born.
in the front room right there with the window.
Plus that's 3 Little Bird's first yard right there.

Rose and family friend Jen, from Cooke City.

OG Lee

Back in the willage. . .

Besties from Seri Omega 2012

Tobacco Root Mountains, solo camping, 4x4, fishing trip.
I caught a burbot, or ling fish, didn't know what it was,
and I threw it away, thinking it was a mutant mud
trout or something. Had no idea it was an elusive
delicacy considered by some to be the world's best fish.
Ooops.

My favorite ski pic.
It's on Golf Course, a great run in Steamboat.
The conditions were amazing, especially for early season.
This turn and pic are just timed so well, and I remember the turn.

For my Malaysian students, who are always asking
what kind of fish we used to catch in Montana.

FFCHS classroom with the three plants experiment in full swing.

In the ski hut we built on Tick Ridge, Big Sky, Montana.

On my honeymoon in NE Malaysia. Skipping rocks.

France

Back in the day, it was film, and you had to count each shot out, and I couldn't afford many.
Here are the best. I lived in France for a year in 2001, and again for a few months in 2004.
Marseilles sunset. La Plage David. With a Puerto Rican girl.

Le Pont du Gard. Got "stuck" here with one of my favorite
people from my trip to France, a fellow MSU student.
Le Pont du Gard is a magic spot, especially on a quiet day.

Les HLM clinging to the hillsides in my old 'hood in Nice.

It's a rough town, but a super sexy one too.
Marseilles kicks ass, often literally.

DONT: Go the Eiffel Tower.
DO: Go to the tour Montparnasse.
There are only two buildings in Paris over 6 stories:
these two towers.
Go to the good one, trust me, it's not the Eiffel.

Real 'hood life in Marseilles.

The Ports of Southern France are some of the oldest, most-
used ports in the world, and just sitting back watching them
can be a great way to spend a day.

Two Pics of the Peyrou area atop Montpellier.

The real, actual Pope's vineyard in Avignon, France, birthplace
of one of my favorite wines: Chateauneuf du Pape.

Sur le Pont d'Avignon.
On one of the world's most famous bridges, or what's left of it.
Avignon rocks: go there now.

Yet another magic moment along
a Corsican hiking trail.
If you are planning a hiking specific vacation,
and it's not in Corsica, stop, and reboot.
I'm not much of a hiker, but if I were to undertake
a hiking mission, it would be Corsica, Corsica
Corsica, one hundred times Corsica.

Looking up my dormroom stairwell in Montpellier, France.
Batiment D, Cite Universitaire du Triolet.
Triolet was a kick ass place to live.

I chanced upon the Rallye de Corse when I went to Corsica.
What a race!!
Rally racing is the best form of auto racing.

The view from the place I learned to meditate:
The Kuan Yin Temple in Nice, France.
Rooftop sweeping duty.

Amsterdam

Go to Amsterdam. Now. Stay if you can.

These are a few of my favorite things:
BMW scooter, Amsterdam bicycle,
Amsterdam house.

If you've never heard about he bicycle culture in Amsterdam,
google it. Amazing. this is a three story parking garage.
For bicycles.
It was full.

Misc. Pics

Randoms from Europe, and back home in the states.
If you ever want to find the end of the Rainbow,
it can often be found at the base of
The Beartooth Falls, where the creek
spills out of Beartoth Lake, in Wyoming.
Something about this bowl pretty consistently
makes rainbows.

Derby Mountain Montana, my wilderness hangout from 2007-2013.

Rainbows and alpenglow setting Paradise Valley Montana on fire.

You know what's more dangerous than bears:
moose. Seriously.

Barcelona. "Nuff said.

Check back at the blog from time to tome for new photos, these from Malaysia!
Thanks!
