But if I had known about the Back 9, Indian Cliffs, & Zimmerman, it would have been love at first sight. These three areas are connected, basically one big playground. Even though it's only one area, it puts Billings right up there in terms of urban singletrack riding spots. Helena and Missoula have much better riding in town, but part of the appeal is that you seem like you're out in the middle of nowhere even though you're parked in town. The Back 9 is a bit different. You're right in town the whole time, but if you focus on the trail, it's some of the best desert singletrack around.
